Project Blue Planet is a contest put on by the National Zoo as a tie-in to their new seal and sea lion exhibit, opening in September.  The contest's purpose is to get kids excited about the environment and conservation.  Students are asked to get their schools and communities involved in conservation by creating a project in one of 4 categories.  The categories are Waste, Energy, Habitat, and Lifestyle, which covers various types of conservation.  With their projects, students must teach others about that issue in conservation, and document how the project went.  The contest is still open and will be open until August 31st.  To learn more about Project Blue Planet, visit their page on STEMconnector here today!
