Today's Joint Center for Political and Economic Media and Technology Institute's Technology Policy Forum core subject is Diversity and Community Colleges and their roles toward STEM jobs (Mid-Skills).  This is something we at STEMConnector™ are deeply passionate about.  Everywhere we go, we hear major discussions on the role of community colleges in filling STEM job needs. Today’s session was hosted at Microsoft, and efforts like today's by Microsoft Innovation and Policy Center along with the Media and Technology Institute and the Joint Center for Political and Economic studies are crucial steps towards filling the gaps needed to keep the US technically proficient in the workforce. Charts on traditional STEM jobs, earning of STEM and non-STEM, barriers to minority advancement into STEM. Our joint message is that jobs are out there for those who pursue STEM careers, and STEMconnector.org is a great resource for finding mid-skills programs, especially for minorities and women. The right training is essential and we applaud all those making a difference, whether it is through CEWD and utility jobs, Microsoft, or AAR.  This subject is front and center. -Edie Fraser
